Durability

Hurford’s Vitex is produced in batches to a specification. Therefore, it is classified as class 1 for the purpose of compliance with the NZ Building Code and relevant clauses. Vitex is extremely durable and high quality, great for construction of outdoor decks in either commercial or residential applications.

Versatile

An extremely versatile product due to its strength and durability, it is often used as decking in NZ but also commonly used in applications such as screening, boat building, feature walls, exterior joinery, boardwalks, furniture and much more.

Strength

Vitex is a hardwood so is extremely stable and unlike pine will resist scratches, dents and decay over a long period if installed and maintained properly.

Workability

Despite its strength and durability, Vitex is a very workable timber species, it bends and holds fastenings well and answers to machinery and tools with ease resulting in an aesthetically pleasing finish.
