Thermally Enhanced Hardwood

Building upon a decade of experience in thermally modifying Australian Hardwood, Hurford’s has pioneered a revolutionary process known as Thermally Enhanced Hardwood. This innovative technique utilises a precisely controlled temperature schedule during the drying process to craft a rich and varied color palette that reflects the traditional tones found in the wood species. By seamlessly blending these tones together, we achieve a more uniform and visually appealing look that enhances the overall aesthetic of the flooring.

Product Information

One of the significant advantages of Thermally Enhanced Hardwood is its transformative effect on the lighter sapwood. Through this process, the lighter sapwood is imbued with natural, warm undertones, creating a more cohesive and attractive appearance. This not only adds depth and character to the wood but also elevates the entire ambiance of any space where it is installed.

Deeper Richer Hues

The innovative technique of thermal enhancement utilises a precisely controlled temperature schedule during the drying process, this crafts a rich and varied color palette that reflects the traditional tones found in the wood species.

Durability

A thermally enhanced hardwood is extremely durable as the controlled drying process reduces the ability to absorb moisture making the timber more stable and resistant to decay. This makes it ideal for most varying temperatures and climates and increasing the longevity.

Aesthetic Appeal

The thermal enhancement process makes for a more uniform colour throughout the timber with deeper richer hues as the colour is locked in through the board, this enhances the overall aesthetic of the flooring.
