Australian Native

Australian Native provides that organic, natural, warm feeling. The Australian Native pre-finished range features a micro bevel profile and a matte finish to achieve a floor that’s earthy and effortless. Consistent in quality and structural stability, Australian Native is constructed using a low shrinkage, eco-friendly Hevea core and a tough Australian hardwood lamella.

Product Information

The Australian Native range offers the benefits of an engineered floor with a remarkable range of hardwood species that will break you free from the everyday range of timbers available within NZ. The range will show you what it means to truly think outside the box. Currently there are five species available within the range, all of which incorporate a licensed Välinge locking system which use a single action installation method, saving on time. Utilising the latest in environmentally friendly UV coatings, the Bona UV Lacquer system delivers a floor finish similar to a stylish oiled floor but with the durability and protection a UV lacquer offers. Australian Native engineered flooring provides a practical yet stylish option suited for day-to-day use in most applications.

The layered construction of engineered flooring will ensure a high level of performance and with Hurford’s superior kiln drying process, this helps to minimise lamella movement, in turn preventing potential stability issues like twisting, cupping and checking.

Specifications

Australian Native flooring is also available in Herringbone – Spotted Gum and Blackbutt species only.

You will also discover Rustic Blackbutt within the range.  As its name implies, this is a blackbutt floor of rustic grade – high feature with prominent gum veins, gum pockets, trails, burls and borer holes. The feature does not interfere with the structural integrity of the floor, but offers a glimpse of the intense life in the Australian Bush; drought, ambrosia attack and fierce wildfires are just some of the elements a tree needs to endure to produce these beautiful and interesting features. An impressive choice, adding value and character to any interior if the Rustic attributes are more in line with your style choice.

Engineered Construction

The innovative layered construction of engineered flooring makes for an extremely durable and stable product compared to traditional solid flooring which is made from a single solid piece of wood. Australian Native is constructed with a Hevea core material and has a 4mm wear layer of Australian Hardwood species as the lamella, this makes each board less likely to warp or buckle with changes in temperature and humidity.

Välinge 5G Glueless Joining System

A Välinge 5G glueless joining system allows boards to go together seamlessly eliminating the need for glue, nails or other time-consuming maneuvers. A fast and easy installation with reliable results that provides each board with extra stability, durability and adds to the overall durability and aesthetic.

Sustainability

Australian Native is an engineered floor that is manufactured using a low shrinkage and eco-friendly Hevea as the core material and a tough Australian hardwood lamella for the wear layer. This layered construction produces a product that has less of an impact on the environment unlike solid flooring as a much smaller amount of timber is used, resulting in less harvesting of precious resources.

Bona UV Lacquer System

Utilising the latest in environmentally friendly UV coatings, our Bona lacquer system delivers a floor finish similar to a stylish oiled floor but with the durability and protection a UV lacquer offers. A transparent finish, promotes the natural beauty of the timber species and is extremely high wear and scratch resistant.
